Make Sense of Your Weekend 3/18

You’ve made it to Friday! And almost to Spring!

This weekend marks the official start of spring and, even though there is snow in the forecast here on the East Coast, I am embracing spring with open arms. I am refusing to believe that it’s going to snow, so let’s hope Mother Nature listens.

With Spring comes a feeling of a fresh start, so I’ve gathered up five suggestions for your weekend plans!

See. At the beginning of this year I made a goal for myself to read 52 books by the time the clock strikes to 2017. I’ve been making slow progress, you can check out my profile (and create your own goal!) over on Goodreads! This article from The Everygirl has some advice on how to find more time to read, all of which I’m going to be implementing from now on!

Hear. First Lady Michelle Obama just released a new, powerful song as a part of her Let Girls Learn initiative. #62milliongirls around the world don’t have access to education and Obama is working hard to change that. This song brings together inspiring, strong singers and promotes a message of confidence AND money from each purchase goes to the initiative!

Taste. Peanut Butter Oatmeal! Ok, this is a simple tip, but one I’ve been obsessing over. Just make your oatmeal as you normally do but then add a dollop of peanut butter and stir. You’ll be left with a delicious, creamy peanut butter oatmeal that will keep you full and happy for hours.

Touch. Go get your hands on some watercolor paints, brushes, and paper! I just grabbed this palette and pad of paper last week (Michael’s was having a big sale!) and have been trying to experiment more with different watercolor techniques. There are tons of tutorials on Pinterest and painting a few flowers will help you get in the fresh, floral mood of Spring!

Smell. FLOWERS. I just love walking past trees and seeing buds just about bursting and ready to bloom. If you’re like me, and don’t have much of a clue as to when certain flowers bloom, this guide is perfect! While it’s geared towards picking flowers for big events, it’s even helpful for picking the best bunch for your kitchen table.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Is it already feeling like spring where you live? Or are you preparing for snow, too? Let me know in the comments!
